This is a Toyota Touch screen Navigation system.  That means all of the options seen below on the 7" screen can be selected with the touch of a finger.  Please note that the Navigation display, in person, is crystal clear.  The pictures below may depict lines or blurriness.

If you see an icon on the map, you can click on the icon to display information about it.

North America and Canada are cover by the North America Map DVD provided in the package.  Note page 3 out of 11.

Point Of Interest (POI) categories.  Notice the size of the scroll bar on the menu.  There are tons of categories which can be clicked to display all the locations near you.  For an example, click Bank to display all of the banks in your area (or area you select) from nearest to farthest.  Once again, the location and names do not need to be programmed in, they come with the Map DVD.  The Navigation system also displays their phone numbers.

This is the first menu under the POI category.  These are the commonly used POI categories.  Click "List All Categories" to display all the categories.

Display a list of restaurants from nearest to farthest.  Navigation finds the restaurants automatically, no need to program them in.  Works like magic.

Has the ability to store the settings up to three drivers.  Each of the three drivers can have their own places in memory, settings, radio station presets, etc.

Sound menu.  Setup the distribution of the sound amongst the speakers.  You can also adjust the midrange, treble, and bass.

Preset AM/FM stations.  RDS radio function displays FM radio station names automatically, no need to type them in.  Even displays the song name.  More RDS radio information can be found at the bottom of this page.

RDS from the FM radio station displays messages.

CD track number and time can be displayed while the map is on.  You can also switch to a menu dedicated to the CD player only which displays the CD song names.  Works with CDs that have CD-TEXT.

You can save up to 106 of your own locations, each one of the locations can be assigned a name and an icon.  When you see the location on the map, the name of the location and icon will be displayed.

Instead of an icon, you can assign each location a ring tone or sound.  Everytime you drive past the location or arrive at the location the sound is played.

Information menu.  Displays selection for maintenance menu, calendar, language, or screen setup.  The screen is currently set to blue.  You can change the color to green, beige, blue, or grey.

Calendar.  Select the day and mark a memo on it.  Every time you start up the vehicle for that day, the memo will be displayed.  Never forget to pick the kids up again!

Memo menu.  Simply type in the memo and click okay.  GM and Ford Navigation systems are not touch screen, they use a joystick, you can almost imagine how hard they are to use.

Maintenance reminders.  You will not forget a tune up or oil change.  In the long run, this menu will have your vehicle's out lasting others.  Face it, we're human and we all forget an oil change, tune up, brakes, tire rotations etc.  The wear and tear our forgetting does on our vehicle can be very costly in the long run.

Destination menu page 1/2.  This menu displays all options which can be used to find your destination.  Enter the address, enter the name of the location, select from POI Category, Emergency which displays near by hospitals and police stations, memory which has your personal programmed locations, previous which displays previous destinations,

Destination menu page 2/2.  Search for destination by selecting on the map, intersection, freeway exit, coordinates, or even phone number.

Menu allows you to adjust the Voice navigation volume or adaptive volume - which changes your volume of the radio with the speed of your vehicle.  Other options on the menu are select user, display/edit your places, or enter the setup menu.

Setup menu consists of four pages.  Many options.

What is Radio Data System (RDS) Radio?

The RDS enables a radio listener to scan for a particular type of program -- for example, current affairs, science, or popular music -- without having to constantly manipulate the tuning dial. A listener who is traveling or commuting in a vehicle can arrange to have special traffic bulletins break into programs automatically, even if the traffic information is broadcast by a station other than the one the listener is tuned to at the moment. In fringe areas, where reception of a particular station is marginal, RDS allows the receiver to automatically tune to a stronger station if there is any such station running the same program at the same time. An RDS receiver can also be set to display brief text messages from broadcasters, and to periodically re-set the car clock to show the exact time.

Besides the user convenience, RDS can enhance driving safety, because it lets the driver pay attention to the road instead of to the radio controls.

What is CD-TEXT?

CD TEXT is the latest extension of the standard Audio CD that contains additional information besides the audio tracks. This information can be the title of the CD, the name of the artist, info on the tracks (song title, artist), etc.
