Applications that require modification to the dash:

There is an extra step that is required to install the 2005 Toyota Navigation system in a vehicle with a smaller opening.  If your application is listed above, your current stereo measures 7 1/16" wide and 4" high.  The Navigation unit measures 7 7/8" wide and 4" high.  Here are three pictures comparing a stereo of your size to the Navigation system:

Notice the Navigation unit is about 1/2" bigger on each side as far as the square outer part of the unit goes.  The square part will NOT be seen after the install.  The rounded part of the Navigation face is the only part that will show once the install is complete.  This means you'll only need to make the opening/bezel as wide as the rounded part of the face.

Height is the same...

Slight difference in width.

Solution:

The Navigation system will wire up fine to the amplifier's jumper harness which we provide, this is not a problem.  The Navigation unit will screw onto your current mounts and sit fine in the dash - some mounts may need the holes realigned, however you will not be able to put the dash cover back on until the dash opening is modified.  A local car audio shop can usually make this small modification for you for a small fee without ruining the stock feel of your vehicle.  May seem like more work than you expected, however the payoff is simply great as you'll now have a genuine 2005 Toyota Navigation system retrofitted to your vehicle.

Example:  1996 Celica Before Install

1996 Celica After Install:

Note:  Navigation display is crystal clear and smooth, there are no lines or blurriness as the picture may depict.  Notice the dash was only made just a little bit wider without taking away from the genuine feel of the vehicle.
